#Indieaugust Author Spotlight: Cami Murdock Jensen

Cami Murdock Jensen

Born and raised in Spanish Fork, Utah, Cami Murdock Jensen developed a love for Fantasy at an early age. Being the only daughter of 8 kids requires an imagination! She spent her summer days playing in the nearby canal looking for frogs and salamanders. She loved reading stories of dragons, fairies, princes and princesses.

Fantasy became an escape, a way to develop my imagination. I become engrossed in reading and creating!

Cami’s mother, Anna Murdock started a Youth Theater in the community for her children to learn acting, singing, dancing, and stage fighting. To keep costs low, Anna and Cami began writing their own musicals with Tales of Ye Merry Woode, based on Robin Hood.

First Earth

Scarred and reviled. She’s the only hope for a magical world… and ours.

Sixteen-year-old Agnes Ann Cavanaugh hates mirrors and herself. Horribly disfigured as a baby and constantly battling chronic pain, she trusts only two people: her mom and the blind author who offered her an internship. But as she’s translating an ancient tablet for him, she triggers an attack by terrifying monsters that catapults her into an enchanted realm.

Barely able to catch her breath, she meets a strange old man and his talking cat who claim she’s a wizard destined to save their Earth. But when Agnes magically determines he’s lying about something, her wariness warns her she needs to get home. Yet, if she doesn’t master her latent abilities to defeat an evil necromancer, her own planet is as doomed as the one she hopes to escape.

Will Agnes protect the people that desperately need her, or is this the end of life as she knows it?

First Earth is Book One in the fast-paced Arch Mage YA fantasy series. If you like wondrous creatures, heart-racing adventures, and underdog protagonists, then you’ll love Cami Murdock Jensen’s extraordinary journey.
